The car made the difference
Three cities in three days sounds punishing and it wasn't, because we were never waiting for anything. Our driver Rajesh was extraordinary — he had the Fatehpur Sikri stop planned around the light without us asking.

Delhi · Agra · Jaipur — 3 days / 2 nights
The classic first journey through North India, planned so the driving happens while you would have been sitting in a hotel anyway. Two nights, three cities, one car and driver throughout.
You will see the Taj Mahal at sunrise, when the marble runs from grey to rose, and Amber Fort at opening hour before the coaches arrive.
Day 1
Collected from your Delhi hotel after breakfast and driven to Agra on the Yamuna Expressway — roughly three and a half hours. Afternoon at leisure; we suggest Mehtab Bagh for the sunset view across the river.
Day 2
First-slot entry at the Taj Mahal, then Agra Fort. After lunch the drive to Jaipur breaks at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal capital. Evening arrival in Jaipur.
Day 3
Amber Fort at opening hour, then the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and a photo stop at Hawa Mahal. Late afternoon return to Delhi, arriving around 21:00.

Superb trip and very well run. Only note is that three days is tight if you want to linger — we'd do four next time. Hotels were both better than expected.
